The Disadvantages Of Santa!

When I was little, I always thought being Santa would be the greatest job ever. I mean, your elves would be able to make anything, there’s magic all around and you get to fly in a sleigh all night long if you want to! Those points are valid, but what are some of the disadvantages? Here are a few I thought about! 😀

Christmas Board Games

I’m pretty sure that during the holidays, every family plays at least one board game. For me, it’s inevitable that I get frustrated with SOMEONE when so many people are around, so this is a good thing for me to get my frustrations out on too. You could absolutely crush someone that you’re annoyed at, and they won’t even know you’re frustrated at them. Anyway, here are a couple board games that are, (in my opinion) amazingly fun games you could play with family or friends during the holidays.

1.) Monopoly

I’m pretty sure everyone has played this one before, but if you haven’t, you should try it. It’s really fun! A whole bunch of recreational centres have this game. To find out how to play, click here.

2.) Suspend

This isn’t really a board game, but it’s a really fun game to play. Also, it’s not very widely known like Monopoly. To learn how to play, click here.

3.) Risk

With my family, whenever we play this game someone is crying by the end and someone doesn’t get dinner. It’s also not especially widely known, but it’s pretty fun! To learn how to play, click here.

4.) Backgammon

This one is WAY more popular among adults then kids. I would always play with my dad, it’s super fun! To find out how to play, click here.

5.) Settlers Of Catan

I saved my personal best for last! This one is my all-time favourite, and was introduced to me last year by my brother. There are 2 extension kits, (the extension kit adds more gameplay features, basically making it more fun) and I LOVE IT! To learn how to play click here.

Welp, those were 5 super fun board games you can play over the holidays! I would recommend all of these, they are all the kinds of games you would play over and over again! Is there one you love to play? Have a great day!

Snow Sports!

Yep, it’s that time of year again. The nearest mountain opened on Dec. 1st, and a little more than half my class is counting the days till they get up there, including me. Most of us ski, some snowboard, and some just like being up there. Personally, I have been skiing for 4 years, and this year is the year I want to try snowboarding. Every year I get a mountain map, and I highlight every run I do. Each year one of my goals are to do every run on the mountain! (Not counting the cross-country runs). Last year, I only missed three runs on the whole mountain. Two double-black diamonds, and one that is black at the top and blue at the bottom. I was sooo close! Do you do any snow sports?

Thor, My Doggy!

Thor, my doggy, is a one and-a half year old Golden Doodle puppy. I gotta say, I love dogs and cats all equal, but my favourite doggy breed is definitely the golden doodle. I had 2 cats recently, brother and sister Maine Coons named Max and Ruby. I love them and my doggy so, so much! So, I’m going to include a couple facts about my favourite doggy breed!

  • The golden doodle is a hybrid between a poodle and a golden retriever, which is where it got it’s name!
  • Golden Doodles are hypoallergenic, meaning they have hair, not fur, so they don’t shed and people mildly allergic to dogs don’t need to worry about allergic reactions!
  • They are super family-friendly and pet-friendly, so they are a great starting dog for a family!
  • Golden Doodles are super-easy to train, making it a good dog to train for first-timers or timid owners.
  • These doggies aren’t well suited to apartments, because they like large, fenced in backyards.
  • Golden doodle come in multiple colours, despite the name. They can come in white, pale-cream, red, golden, black, brown, dark-brown and silver.

Drawing Challenge!

If you read my About Me post, you would know I love ♥ all types of art ♥ , but especially drawing and sketching. I got the idea to try to make my own drawing challenge! I thought I should post it so if anyone else loves to draw and sketch, or even if they don’t like to, they can try it!

Pretty much what it is is a list of a whole bunch of drawing prompts. There is one for every day of the month, (any month) and the goal is to draw something, even if it is a tiny little doodle, of the first thing that comes to mind when you read the prompt. It could be a piece Van Gogh would be proud of or something so bad the dog wouldn’t even WANT to eat it, it doesn’t matter! You don’t have to be good at art to do this challenge. In fact, this could be how you get better!

After the month is over, even if you missed a couple days, I can bet your mind will be blown when you see how much your artwork has gotten better. I’ve also included a picture of what came to my mind when I read the first prompt!

5 Most Unique Beaches

When I think of beach, I think of white sand, turquoise water, sun shining and lots and lots of bird poop. However, not all beaches are similar to what I imagine. Not all beaches are the usual water, sand, rock combination. Some are in crazy locations with strange facts about them that you probably wouldn’t believe. Here are 5, crazy weird beaches you may have heard of.

1.) The Green Beach

At first glance, you may think that moss is covering every inch of sand at this beach. Not at all! At one of Hawaii’s many beaches, the sand is actually green! The reason the sand is green is definitely not because of a lot of algae. The native sand gets its bright green appearance from a nearby volcano that produces a lot of the green mineral, olivine! It is only one of 4 green beaches in the world!

2.) The Hot Water Beach

Forget baths and hot tubs, just imagine a hot bubbling beach! The water is heated by underground springs! You can sit in there all day, but that’s probably not the best idea health-wise. If you want to visit a natural hot tub, just visit the Coromandel Peninsula in New Zealand. The water temperatures can peak at 147 degrees fahrenheit. No jacuzzies in the world can compete!

3.) The Hidden Beach

There’s a reason why this beach is called “The Hidden Beach”! (Very creative names, I know!) You wouldn’t be able to visit this beach unless you know it’s there. You have to be very high up to spot this beach on the Marietta Islands in Mexico. This beautiful beach is in a large crater, almost cave-like among the edges. You can only see the way in from high above! However, this beach has a violent past.  It was formed when the area was used by the Mexican government for bomb testing. I’m not sure why the government chose this particular spot, but all those tests led to a huge hole that was blasted into the earth! Fortunately, they don’t use this spot for tests anymore due to swimmers. Now, this beach is a beautiful swim hole!

4) Boulder’s Beach

Who knew you could sightsee penguins and soak in rays at the same time? Well, this beach in South Africa is made up of 2 inlets between granite boulders in the False Bay. It’s actually a getaway for both humans and 3,000 penguins! Located just south of Cape Town, South Africa visitors come here year round to take advantage of the wooden walkways as so to not disturb the penguins. The penguins are also very smelly though, so you may not want to get too close.

5.) The Glowing Beach

Who dropped a couple thousand worth’s of glow stick juice in this beach? This beach gives a spectacular, glowing view to tourists and visitors. It seems like something out of a fairy tail with its glowing blue water! The reason this water glows blue is because of phytoplankton, which glows when disturbed! Question is, who’s bugging these plankton’s? Whoever is doing so, don’t stop! The view is beautiful! These phytoplankton are quite common among the shores of the Maldives, which makes it a hot spot for tourists, especially honeymooners!

Would You Rather…? Part 2

A little while ago, I made 15 Would You Rather’s in a part one and said another 15 would be coming soon. Well, here they are!

  1. Would you rather have a snake as a pet or a tarantula?
  2. Would you rather live in space or underwater? (In both places you have unlimited oxygen!)
  3. Would you rather shoot wet noodles out of your fingers or sneeze meatballs?
  4. Would you rather have a head twice as big or half as small?
  5. Would you rather always have to enter rooms backwards or always have to somersault out of the room?
  6. Would you rather be totally covered in hair, head to toe or always be completely bald?
  7. Would you rather have a unicorn horn or a squirrel tail? (I would pick a squirrel tail in a heartbeat!)
  8. Would you rather be able to shoot hot sauce from your eyes (it doesn’t burn you, only others) or be able to jump 20 meters high?
  9. Would you rather be able to fly or be telepathic? (You can read minds, transmit thoughts and lift things without touching them!)
  10. Would you rather have a pet dragon or be someone’s pet dragon?
  11. Would you rather find a dragon or a unicorn?
  12. Would you rather have an extra leg or an extra arm?
  13. Would you rather only ever be able to shout or whisper everything you say out loud?
  14. Would you rather be guaranteed heath or wealth for the rest of your life?
  15. Would you rather quack like a duck for 1 minute after every sentence or do the chicken dance 3 times after every sentence?
